Ninja ZX6R or ZX636 Top Speed

The top speed of a ZX6R like all things depends on the weight and aerodynamics of the motorcycle rider. A typical 2006-2007 Ninja ZX6R or ZX636 max speed will be around 160-180 miles per hour. I myself have a 2006 Ninja 636 which has reached a stock speed of 197 MPH. However, this will not be standard since I’m a lightweight and had little gas or gear on. Weight and rind resistance is an extremely huge factor at high speeds.

Increase ZX6R Speed

There are a variety of ways you can increase the speed of your motorcycle. If you’re looking for an incredible acceleration and low top end speed, all you need is a stunt sprocket. A stunt sprocket will increase the amount of teeth making the sprocket larger, giving it more leverage. This will enable your ZX6R to do wheelies on demand, even in second gear. Carful, such a mod can be dangerous and it’s always recommended you start by adding as little teeth as needed.

If you wish to obtain a higher maximum speed there’s a few things you can do. Your helmet and wind screen should form an aerodynamic object for air to easily flow over. Always tuck your head down when riding at high speeds. Special leather racing jackets are also a good way to decrease wind resistance, thus making your max speed faster. A typical race jacket will be very tight and keep anything from waiving in the wind. Along with the obvious benefits, they’re also equipped with plastic shoulder and elbow pads to keep you safe in case of a crash. Most if not all race tracks require such racing gear.

ZX6R Power Commander

A ZX6R power commander is also a great way to increase the speed of your bike. A power command is an easy to install device which controls the fuel to air ratio your motorcycles engine receives. It has an LCD screen which has different modes for street and track racing. Typically if you’re not on the track, you can use street mode to save gas. The power commander will come with an easy to install manual with just a few steps needed. All parts to connect it exist on the stock ZX636 or ZX6R motorcycles.
